Nikon Coolpix S6500 is a compact camera with
12x optical zoom lens and integrated Wi-Fi. It has silver, black, red, blue,
white and orange versions available on the market with the price of $285.

When shooting, there’s auto mode can adjust
the camera settings automatically, as well as 19 shooting modes. Different
shooting modes include Auto HDR, the mode that combines 2 Easy Panorama
360°/180° images and 10fps continuous high-speed shooting. Besides, there’s a
smart portrait shooting mode including a smile timer, blinking alert and
glamorous image-editing mode. You can also shoot at 3D mode, the images can
later be presented on a TV with 3D mode available.
When finished shooting, you can edit your
images in editing menu, including choosing colors and collage modes. You images
can be transferred to a smartphone or a tablet by using built-in Wi-Fi. This
also lets you use the phone as a remote control.
Video is recorded at full 1,080p HD mode
with stereo.

S6500 has a compact metal body; it’s pretty
lightweight, so it’s ideal for you to put in your pocket. The 3-inch screen has
good resolution at 460k dots and it’s easy to watch in different lowlight
conditions. There’s a suite of buttons following the standard for a compact
camera with an on/off switch, shutter button and zoom adjuster con the top. On
the back is a d-pad with an OK button at the center as well as recording
options, images modes, display, menu and back button.
The S6500s has new and innovated menu
system, with a neater interface so it’s easy to navigate. When shooting,
there’s an option popping up with a preview letting you apply an effect quickly
to edit your images. There’s a broad selection for the options such as pop, toy
camera color selection.
To use the Wi-Fi connection, you need to
download the Wireless Mobile Utility apps for your smartphones or tablet (iOS or
Android OS). This allows you to use your portable device to download images
from your camera for the purpose of editing and sharing them. You can also use
them as a remote notification. A preview shows up on your phone, you adjust
zoom mode, or set up a timer. Other info will appear on the screen, such as the
speed of the shutter, lens aperture, number of taken images on the left and
battery life.

The battery life is rated at the level of
taking 150 images according to the testing result of CIPA, we’re able to shoot
nearly 250 images before the battery ran down, this also included tests with Wi-Fi
networks. We took a number of shots to test the responsiveness of the camera, switching
from the first image, one after the other, with focus speed… We took some images
and then use averagely to make sure that the test is accurate and consistent,
making it easy to compare to others.
