$399 for a 16GB Wi-Fi-only model - you will have to cross the sea to have a 3G
option and the highest price is $599 for a 64GB model. But there are other
Android tablets with Tegra 3 and ICS inside that could affect your decision to
buy. Asus Transformer Pad TF300 provides the same 1,280x800 resolution and the
basic configuration at a cheaper price ($380, not including the keyboard dock).
In fact, it's quite old, was released in the spring, but at least you get
vanilla Ice Cream Sandwich. Then there is the Acer Iconia Tab A700 for $450,
which has a 1,920x1,080 screen and a standard 32GB of storage, but gives less
impressive battery life. The iPad 2 is priced at $399, even though you have a
lower resolution screen. (At least, battery life is great). Of course, the
biggest selling point is possible to be Apple’s walled-in ecosystem, which you
might have invested or might not (or are willing to invest in).

Conclusion
The Xperia Tablet S was Sony's second
chance to get it right in the field of Android tablets. It also represented the
opportunity to expand the Xperia brand to other product categories. If we only
assessed it based on a safe, effective design; then it was right, the S would
score high marks for comfort. We do not entirely consider this folded-over
magazine shape as a standard for the next series, but currently it works, and
we are excited to witness how it evolves over time.
Unfortunately, the S also lost the marks in
the daily performance, distributing software experience erratically. It must be
admitted that most tablets we tested occasionally had troubles, but for $399,
you might pay less money to get the same specs. While the Xperia Tablet S feels
like an innovation over its predecessor; ultimately, it relies so much on the
striking design while skimping on refined user experience.
The
Xperia Tablet S was Sony's second chance to get it right in the field of
Android tablets. It also represented the opportunity to expand the Xperia brand
to other product categories.
