Xerox Phaser 6000
This value-packed printer from Xerox will
print 10 pages per minute (ppm) in colour, and 12ppm in black and white. It has
a clean, white, but slightly boxy design that will fit into most environments
without causing a stir. It’s reasonably small too, and at 10.7kg, it’s no
heavyweight. The Phaser 6000 will connect to your laptop via USB 2.0 and keeps
pretty quiet during an extended print run.
It has no LED screen, and only two buttons
- one for ‘OK’ and another for ‘Cancel’. The accompanying CD includes both
Windows and Mac drivers, making this a well-rounded printer. It does little to
distinguish itself from the competition, but would make a reliable purchase.

Toffee iPad Case
Finished with attractive red leather, this
case from Australian brand Toffee is a stylish companion to your new iPad. The
hard shell base will protect the tablet in your bag, while the foldable cover
lets you stand the iPad up for watching movies, or position it at a comfortable
angle for long typing sessions. There are precision-cut holes around the case
that give you access to all the ports and controls on your tablet.
In practice, the case works well. We
occasionally had issues with standing the iPad up, but there’s no doubt that
the premium red leather looks attractive (there’s also a black option
available). The price, although high, isn’t exorbitant, and if you want
something more substantial than an inexpensive clip-on protector this is worth
some consideration.

Incipio Featner Case for Samsung Galaxy S III
The Incipio Feather Case for the Samsung
Galaxy S III measures a scant 1mm thick, and clips to the back of your
cherished smartphone. The shell is crafted from polycarbonate for durability,
and also comes with a screen protector and stand. The soft rubberised texture
means you’ll be able to grip the S III a lot more convincingly, and there’s a
range of colours to choose from.
All the necessary holes are cut through the
case for the volume rocker, camera and flash, and the small stand is
particularly useful when you want to watch a movie on the Galaxy S3’s excellent
AM0LED screen.

iStorage diskAshur 256-bit USB 3.0
This device gives you a physical numerical
pad on an external hard drive or USB stick, which you must use to enter a PIN
before you can access the drive’s contents. It comes in a number of sizes, from
250GB to 1TB. There’s also a 128-bit version, which is about $30 less than the
equivalent size in 256-bit configuration.
Of course, typing in a PIN every time you
plug in the device can be time consuming, so this won’t be for everyone.
However, if you often find yourself transferring files of a sensitive nature,
then this is a very desirable product.
