Here's some good news for all those who
complain about not having satisfactory storage space despite flaunting the
latest iPad, iPhone or Galaxy phone: Transcend StoreJet Cloud is a welcome
addition to Kingston's Wi Drive and Seagate's GoFlex Satellite!
Built on the same principles, the StoreJet
Cloud simply creates its own wireless network to which all the devices can
connect. So to access files stored in a StoreJet Cloud, you need to disconnect
from any other Wi-Fi network. The StoreJet Cloud does take some time for
installation but once installed, it can share stored data simultaneously with
five devices. Before connecting to other devices it needs to be disconnected
from the PC. A customized App available for Android and iOS platforms.
Once connected, transmission across devices
is very smooth. The device is capable of using 802.11 b, g and n modes. In our
test we found the transmission of files across StoreJet and other devices to be
smooth, unless dealing with a HD video file. The player is capable of recognizing
most formats but takes some seconds for buffering.
The device's in-built battery survived a
decent four hours in our test.
Transcend StoreJet Cloud is available in
two capacities 32 and 64 GB. For the price of the 64GB one, you can buy the
Seagate Satellite which has several other features and larger storage. Though,
the Transcend StoreJet Cloud or Kingston Wi- Drive are arguably better options.
