Detail is very good from the kit lens at both ends of the lens, and regardless of the lens with the camera you choose, they perform well. Macro results are a little bit disappointed, and the macro with a different lens is recommended. Purple fringing and chromatic aberration is low, with the camera editing in the camera. Exposure is reliable, camera deal good in many situations, and the deep petal hoods provide good protection against lens flare.

ISO test images

Scope of ISO standards has been extended and now goes from ISO160 to ISO25600. The low image noises at ISO160, ISO200 and ISO400, with a slight increase in ISO800. There was a slight improvement in the performance of noise while still retaining detail, up to ISO3200 when compared to the G5. Detail drops at ISO6400 as noise increases. At ISO12800 noise is very noticeable, and this setting should be avoided, although better results achieved here from G6, compare with G5. ISO25600 should avoid, and excessive noise. Noise improved in G5, however does not entire match with Olympus OM-D E-M5 at higher ISO settings.

Automatic white balance (AWB) works well under yellow light, with a slightly warm result. Tungsten preset gives a slightly more neutral image, and AWB performed very well under fluorescent light. As similar to other Panasonic cameras, there is no fluorescent preset.

Panorama mode

New panorama mode does a good job of stitching images together automatically as you pan camera, although the movement of objects, such as images of pedestrians, which can lead to ghosting. You can also use the effects on the panoramic image.

Digital filters

There are a large number of digital filters available, with some of them are customizable, such as a sun filter that enables you to change the position and size of the sunshine effect in the photo. The camera records both JPEG and RAW file so you can go back to the original image if you do not like the effects.

Video is upgraded from G5 model, with optional compression AVCHD/MP4, 50/24p and full HD, as well as filters and effects, full manual controls. The front of the camera is a micro socket, and the camera has stereo microphone and stereo attached. You can use the 'Extra Tele Conv' cropped from the center of the frame, give you a thumbnail image of the full HD video without compromising image quality, an example can be found on our Youtube channel. If you want to be able to use the optical zoom while recording, then a power zoom len is recommended because it can be difficult to zoom smoothly with a manual zoom len. In video mode it can change the shutter speed / aperture with the dial on the back of the camera,  where your thumb rests.

Panasonic Lumix G6 is a great camera, with very few problems, although battery life could be better. The Wi-Fi feature is excellent for remote control and send the image to your smartphone, but load up to social networks should easier, if you do not have to go through the login web page Lumix, this caused some problems. Value for money is quite adequate, particularly introduction price competes very well with the same camera, we expect prices will fall over time, making it better value for money.

Panasonic Lumix G6 provides excellent image quality even when using with the kit lens in the box, and as a part of the Micro Four Thirds system, have a large number of lenses available when you want to upgrade, from both Panasonic and Olympus and many other manufacturers.
