With Totem Wind, users will not be impressed by a specific frequency band because all of them are perfect and terms of sound will be replaced by music’s ones.

Totem Wind audio system

When talking about Totem, listeners often refer to characteristics relating to smooth, sweet and fulfilled music. Those are features audiophiles are always expecting at a Totem’s product and they are clearly delivered by a pair of Totem Wind speakers.

The system includes 4 tall speakers, 3 audio linings and 1 big 2cm-diameter woofer, 2 mid-ranges plus Dynaudio driver and one tweeter positioned on top. Wind’s mid-ranges use neodymium core. All drivers are shaped in sturdy metal moulds, ensuring the system’s operation. Dome-shaped tweeter is made of alloy from rare metal and it is able to work at high voltage without any distortion.

WBT’s hi-end linings

To test the product, we used amplifier consisting of two DiaLogue Seven mono-block modules, each of which operates 4 KT88 tubes, from PrimaLuna to couple with Totem Wind. This was also the most hi-end configuration of PrimaLuna. This system gave 70W per channel in ultra linear mode and 40W per channel in triode mode. The mono-block system was directly joined with the hi-end most pre-amp, DiaLogue, of PrimaLuna. We did also use a legendary vintage CD player called Luxman D7.

Right after we inserted Mahler music disc (the symphony No5) into the tray and pressed play, the 35-square-meter room was instantly filled by classic atmosphere (in the end of Romance age) written by Gustav Mahler – one of the greatest composers of 20th century. A good speaker’s characteristic is dissipating itself in the room and Wind can do it easily. At then, in the room, there was only music in all frequency bands as well as layers seeming arranged by a professional orchestra: violin 1 (left), viola (middle), violin 2 with contrabass (right), cello (second layer), wind (third layer) and brass plus wood instruments (top layer). We could recognize each layer as easy as a piece of cake thanks to Totem Wind’s deep and wide sound space.

Dynaudio mid-ranges

In the same segment, Totem Wind’s dynamic range has no rival. Even more-than-thousand-dollar products from Focal or Advantagarde, which performed similar songs, didn’t bring audience vibrant feelings as much as Wind did. Wind totally controlled over beat and rhythm of sophisticated sounds which can be piccolo flowing after every single breath of the artist or fortissimo climaxing with hundreds of instrumentalists showing their explosive emotions… All those music, running fast or slow and harmonious or fierce, were naturally delivered by Totem Wind in a placid confidence.

Using the best drivers as well as hi-end 3-way crossover filter, audio frequencies were produced balanced and accurate by Totem Wind, without any conflict. For mid-ranges, the manufacturer often increases a certain frequency to enhance the device’s personality. It may be mid-bass, bass, mid, or mid-treble. Those speakers only impress users in a short time. After then, that imbalance will kill listener’s feeling due to the fact that reproduced music is processed and distorted according to the speaker’s characteristics.

With Wind, listeners may not be impressed by a particular frequency. What listeners can feel is the sound of instruments, of singers. “Sound” will be replaced by “music”. That’s when listeners are only fond of contrabassist’s skill, sound delivered by Grand Steinway&Son piano or the jesting singing style of the singer.

Moreover, at any price, Totem’s products all give high performance. In other words, Wind is full of poetic. Music is always connected with epics. Totem’s philosophy follows this trend: poetic, romantic and passionate. It makes Wind emotional and easy to touch people’s hearts.

Break-branded equalizer sounded elegant in single audio detail.

My friend responded to the test that: “Totem Wind is soul-living creature”. Did he exaggerate because of his love for this system? However, it’s an undeniable fact that Totem’s sound output comforts audience and increases their love for music. Wind drives users to buy more discs, instead of to invest money into hardware configuration.
