The Canon imageCLASS MF8210Cn is a color laser printer that has a midrange price and is aimed at the smaller office setups. Its outward design is quite straightforward; this is after all a printer and not part of your office décor.

Multi-function printer with mobile printing capabilities.
Simple solution for the modern business

You can connect to the MF8210Cn via USB or Ethernet, and while you can print and scan directly to your iOS or Android mobile device via the Canon Mobile Printing app, it means having to hook the printer up to a router since it doesn’t come with built-in Wi-Fi. There’s also a USB port on the printer that allows you to print JPEG, TIFF and XML fi les from a USB fl ash drive.

Since the MF8210Cn does not have an ADF, paper handling is limited to the input tray. It can handle 150 sheets of paper; this printer isn’t meant for high volume use, making it a more suitable addition to smaller or home offices. It doesn’t come with a duplexer as well, so you will have to manually flip the pages over if you are printing double-sided documents.

The MF8210Cn reduces environmental impact with Sleep Mode power consumption
as low as 1W. Energy Star Typical Energy Consumption (TEC) is 0.4kWh/week.

The MF8210Cn is pretty quick in terms of print speed; it churns out 14 pages per minute for monochrome documents, and 13 pages per minute for documents with colored graphics and images. The print quality for colored graphics and images is pretty good, with decent color saturation. The MF8210Cn does miss out on being one of the best as its image and graphics sharpness falls behind the top performers in this category. This is understandable as both the print and scan resolutions are lower than the top performers in this category. Copy quality belongs does end up in the upper spectrum, though the MF8210Cn performs below expectations when it came to color photo prints. Oddly, prints displayed a strong red cast no matter how much we tweaked the color management settings; color accuracy takes a significant hit here.

Canon's proprietary On-Demand Fixing Technology transfers heat directly to the ceramic heating element, reducing warm-up time to the bare minimum and enabling a quick first print.

If speed is one of your major concerns, the MF8210Cn is a good option with its print and copy speeds. Print quality can be considered above average, though we’ve seen better elsewhere. We also feel that the MF8210Cn isn’t really suited for printing photo images despite doing quite well when printing documents that had colored graphics and images. It’s a suitable printer for smaller and home offices if you can look past its flaws.
