Date Match

A Date Match targeting item, shown in Figure 4, allows a preference item to be applied to computers or users only if the day or date matches that specified in the targeting item. The configuration can be for one or more days of the week (weekly), on a set date or dates each month (monthly), or on a specific date of the year (which can also be set to recur yearly).

Dial-Up Connection

A Dial-Up Connection targeting item, shown in Figure 5, allows a preference item to be applied to users only if a network connection of the type specified in the targeting item is connected. This targeting item is available only for Group Policy Preferences settings that appear in the User Configuration section of the GPO.

Note

Dial-Up Connection targeting items detect whether a type of network connection exists, not whether the user is logged on through a connection of that type.

Disk Space

A Disk Space targeting item, shown in Figure 6, allows a preference item to be applied to computers or users only if the processing computer’s available disk spa ce is greater than or equal to the amount specified in the targeting item. The Free Disk Space list accepts preference processing variables. Press F3 to display the Select a Variable dialog box, which lists the system-defined variables from which you can select.

A Domain targeting item, shown in Figure 7, allows a preference item to be applied to computers or users only if the user is logged on to, or the computer is a member of, the domain or workgroup specified in the targeting item. The NetBIOS Domain Name text box accepts preference processing variables. Press F3 to display the Select a Variable dialog box, which lists the system-defined variables from which you can select.
