The dynamic range seems to be good, and can
be enhanced by using the shadow mode of the camera and outstanding adjustment options.
Colors are bright and bold, and pictures with the flash show that it is vital
to adjust red-eye effects in photos of our experiment.

The process of adjusting the distortion of
the image paying attention to the deformation style distortion and pincushion
distortion boxes: Purple fringing is quite high, and slight chromatic
aberrations can be seen in some images. The process of taking great macro
camera can focus on subjects just 1cm away from the front of the lens. The
detail is quite good even at wide angle, or shot with telephoto images. Details
are also good in the corners of the image, as long as you do not shoot in
extended mode. The vignette image is not seen the sun and also reliable.
ISO image noise level

The image noise is low at ISO 100, and
increases to ISO 200. The noise increases to ISO 400 and drops back again at
ISO 800, but the detail is still very good. The noise becomes quite strong at
ISO 1600, but the details are still pretty good. At ISO 3200 the details of the
noise levels are more strongly affected. The level of noise is so strong at ISO
6400 and this setting mode and the above is best to be avoided, unless you want
to resize your images.

The automatic white balance (AWB) works
well, although there are two options for AWB under tungsten lighting, with
choices of adjustable power mode, or subtle adjustments, with subtle
adjustments to the warm images. There are a number of fluorescent presets
available to suit a variety of fluorescent lighting effects, and AWB fulfills
its duties under fluorescent light.

The panorama mode lets you capture three
images and you have to arrange them using an overlay of the previous image,
after taking three, the camera strings them together, although the results will
be different depending on the way you can arrange them.

Scene modes: The camera scene has normal modes,
but there are also handheld night shots, straight shots, wide digital modes (which
add two to have a portrait image with extremely wide angles), and panorama.
Options / Playback effects, including image
rotation, stretching, small face filter, collage, digital filters, HDR,
original frames, RAW processing, video editing, red-eye correction , resize,
and crop images. There are 15 sets of digital filter effects including B &
W, Sepia, Toy Camera, Retro, Color, Color Extract, emphasized Color, High
Contrast, starburst, soft, fish-eye, brightness, zoom, thin ( long), and color
inversion. Some of these are shown above, and can be combined in-camera before
saving.
The HDR option as standard has the strong
mode 1 and 2. The HDR images are best when used with a tripod, otherwise the
results can be quite soft. Customized image have some preset modes include
Bright, Natural, Vibrant, Reversal Film, Monochrome, and you can set
saturation, hue, contrast and sharpness.
Video
Both time-lapse mode and high-speed videos
are recorded at VGA resolution (640x480), and the only sound characteristics. The
Optical zoom mode is available while recording full HD videos, although in
video mode you cannot use the video button to begin recording a video, instead
you use the shutter button, and the noise from the receiver Optical zoom is
pretty big.
Value
The Pentax MX-1 is available on the market
for $598.5; this price seems moderate, in the middle of the range than other
compact cameras. Other products to consult with bright lenses include the
Olympus XZ-2, the Panasonic Lumix LX7, the Canon Powershot G15, the Nikon
Coolpix P7700, and the Fujifilm FinePix X10.
Conclusion
The Pentax MX-1 has made the point in the
office, with some who like the style and some who do not care about the classic
look. It is definitely a unique look camera, looking like a vintage camera
completed with silver and black colors. The camera becomes better with a rubber
grip at the front and back, which creates a style for the camera, although it
is quite heavy when held. Although the camera has room for a flash hot-shoe,
but it has not been fitted, and a number of competitors have already offered
this feature.
Currently it is in the more expensive high-end
segment of the market and provides high image quality and manual controls.
While there are a few flaws in some features, such as the HDR feature that we
seem to want it to work better, the camera offers a lot of customizations and
editing features in the camera, without having to handle images on your
computer. This feature can be a good choice, especially if you want to get
images from your camera without using a computer to adjust the image
accordingly. The camera also offers some unique options like video and
time-lapse video, high-speed sound.
